以「原。未」為名的這場展覽，「原」字除了是本展主角，原住民文化的代號之外，本身也有「最起始」的意思，而單字又加入反義字的「未」，好似抓起時間軸的兩端，撐起一張想像的大網。
「原。未」以當代工藝的角度切入，探究原住民十六族群所蘊藏的智慧，引領大家一起思考原住民文化起源、材料展現、發展進程、歷史生活、社會經濟、泛靈信仰、宇宙觀等等，並從當代工藝家的新創看見原始工藝與當代元素的巧妙結合，激發出對原住民工藝的未來想像，使展域成為叩開下一個新當代的按鈕。
走在窗外有綠地的展域，當沐浴在暖燈光與波浪板的光透漫射下，氤氳靉靆之間可讀出山影、海霧、碎浪、山嵐……山的意象與海的意象協調合奏，融成一道未來感光譜，在純粹中浮現的職人作品，成了引導遊走的溫暖光點，觸發觀者對原民文化未來的想像與新的動能。
This exhibition titled ‘Original Future’, which the word ‘original’ not only relates to the main character of the exhibition ‘indigenous peoples’ but also conveying the meaning of everything at the beginning.
Future, literally means the time hasn’t arrived yet, is as an antonym of beginning. To combine these two words together and make this exhibition is to imagine pulling two edges of timeline and open an extraordinary net to show.
Original Future showing its concept with contemporary craftsmanship. To discover the wisdom of sixteen indigenous peoples, leading everyone to think together: origin of indigenous peoples’ culture, material display, development process, historical life, social economic, animistic beliefs, point of view of universe, etc. To see the ingenious combination of primitive artifacts and contemporary elements through contemporary craftsmen’s creative artworks. Inspire the imagination of how indigenous craftsmanship is heading to the future and make this exhibition venue as a turning point to lead to the next new contemporary.
When walking at the exhibition venue with green field outside the window, the reflection of sunlight from the wave-shaped board, it is likely to link the whole experience with mountain, ocean, waves, clouds and mist. The image of mountain and ocean works simply together as an ensemble and merge into a spectrum towards future. All these craftsmen’s artworks show the beauty of purity, turn out to be warm light spots to lead the viewers discover. The ultimate goal is to make the viewers to image the indigenous peoples’ future and create new development.
