2021 Taiwan Jewelry Design & Metalsmithing Association Exhibition and TJDMA International Design Competition Selected Exhibition

Taiwan Jewelry Design & Metalsmithing Association (TJDMA), consisting of renowned Taiwan-based jewelry and metalsmith masters, is committed to extending and passing on the metalsmithing heritage. The Association members include university and college professors, professional creators with individual studios, jewelry designers and artisans devoted to their specific metalsmith disciplines. Variations of their artworks comprise metalsmith jewelry and metalware. Since its establishment in 1999, the Association has brought together numerous talents and immense jewelry & metalsmithing creation expertise. What all members have in common is their continuous art creation and endless pursuit for excellence, as well as their devotion to propelling Taiwan’s contemporary jewelry metalsmithing to the international arena.

Displayed at the exhibition are approximately 60 pieces of artworks by the TJDMA members. To stimulate the Association members’ creative drive and potential, the Association has been organizing joint exhibitions for many years. To adhere to the Association's mission of propelling Taiwan’s contemporary jewelry metalsmithing to the international arena, the Association has been proactive since 2016 in conducting interchanges with contemporary international metalsmith organizations, specifically by hosting cross-nation joint exhibitions in 2016, 2017, and 2019. Due to the pandemic, the Association could not physically conduct an international exhibition this year. To encourage its members to keep up their creative energy, the Association has decided to carry on with the joint exhibition in Taiwan. Featuring the theme of “Unchartered Territories”, the exhibition enables the members to utilize their metalsmithing techniques and ingenuities to express how they have coped with the pandemic so far and their sentiments towards it. In so doing, they will produce artworks and share them with the public.
