Crafting Future:2025 Taiwan Craft Exhibition

The Future of Craftsmanship Is Set to Inspire You!

Crafting Future: 2025 Taiwan Craft Exhibition opened at the Taipei Contemporary Craft and Design Branch of the National Taiwan Craft Research and Development Institute on June 1, 2025. With the theme "Crafting Future: he Future of Craftsmanship Is Set to Inspire You, the exhibition is deeply rooted in Taiwan's local craft culture, reflecting on tradition, embracing contemporary practices, and striving to envision the future of craft in a rapidly changing world. This exhibition serves not only as a showcase of techniques, materials, and cultural expressions but also as an aesthetic experiment that transcends time, space, and the senses.

The process of life is craftsmanship. The forefront of craftsmanship is life!

Craft has never been a static entity, but it’s a living, evolving response to daily needs and cultural shifts. Crafting Future: 2025 Taiwan Craft Exhibition emphasizes the importance of Returning to the Essence of Craft, not merely as a form but as a human interpretation of life. When we discuss the future of craft, we are reconsidering how it is rooted in the everyday and continues to resonate with our lives. From the use of natural materials and the preservation of artisan spirit to the innovative transformation of contemporary expression, this exhibition aims to demonstrate that craft possesses a profound power, not only in the objects it produces but also in its lifestyle values and cultural reflections.

The exhibition spans three floors and presents three main themes: Crafts Keepers, Silent Bamboo, and Tea Banquet. These sections transition from the preservation of traditional techniques to the interaction with nature and the integration of craft into daily life, reflecting the diverse pathways that connect the origins of craft to its future.

"Crafting Future" is not only a vision—it is also a question: How should future craft be defined? In what form will it unfold? We invite each visitor to leave with a personal question or a sense of wonder, reconsidering the connection between craft and life, culture and the future.

The future of craft is an extension of life—not a distant ideal, but something arriving here and now. Just for you.
