那都蘭工作室:胡秀蘭、胡俊傑
那都蘭工作室為一家位於花蓮秀林鄉的小型太魯閣族織布工坊,由胡秀蘭與其子將博・里漢共同經營,致力於傳承與創新原住民織布文化。
創辦人胡秀蘭自幼耳濡目染學織,融合自身於日本習得的裁縫與拼布技術,將傳統織布應用於日常生活用品,並創作出如「有肚子的貓頭鷹之眼」等具辨識度的圖樣,為織品注入獨特個性。
第二代傳承者將博・里漢勇於突破太魯閣族傳統中男性不織布的禁忌,以「喜愛織布的男生」自我定位,重新思考性別與文化規範的界線。他從桌上型織機起步,藉由展覽、駐村計畫及文化培訓,開展「布難梭」等系列創作,並獲得耆老允許,成為少數可使用傳統地織機的太魯閣男性。對胡秀蘭而言,織布是與母親記憶的連結;對將博而言,則是文化翻譯與自我認同的實踐。母子共織,不僅是一段親子旅程,更是一場跨代共創的文化傳承。
工作室由一家三口協力經營,產品多元,涵蓋織品、布包與家飾,主打客製化手作。同時結合部落小旅行與織布體驗課程,透過故事與實作深化民眾對原住民文化的理解。未來規劃更進一步推動苧麻復育與深度旅遊,期盼從素材到技法完整重現太魯閣族織布生命力,也讓傳統文化於現代生活中自然延續與轉化。
Nadolan Studio, located in Xiulin Township, Hualien, is a small Truku weaving workshop run by mother Nadolan and her son JiangBo LiHang. The studio is dedicated to both preserving traditional weaving and exploring contemporary applications.
Founder Nadolan began weaving as a child and later integrated sewing and quilting techniques learned in Japan. She applies these skills to everyday objects, creating distinctive motifs such as the “Owl’s Eyes with a Belly,” giving each piece a unique personality.
Her son, JiangBo LiHang, has challenged traditional taboos that discouraged Truku men from weaving. Calling himself “a man who loves to weave,” he learned on a tabletop loom, expanded his practice through exhibitions, residencies, and training programs, and became one of the few men approved by elders to use the traditional ground loom.
The studio produces a diverse range of handcrafted items, including textiles, bags, and home décor, with a focus on custom designs. They also offer weaving workshops and village tours, combining storytelling with hands-on practice to share Truku culture. Future plans include reviving ramie cultivation and developing immersive cultural tourism, ensuring the vitality of Truku weaving continues from material to craft in contemporary life.
