The Craft Exhibition Hall, opened in 1977, was Taiwan’s first national exhibition venue open to the public for showcasing a wide range of crafts. It played a dual role in promoting the craft industry and advancing tourism. In 2022, it was designated as a Nantou County historic site, having witnessed the rise, growth, and transformation of Taiwan’s craft industry over the past fifty years, and served as an important site for craft research, development, and technical exchange.
Building upon this legacy, “Everyday Craft – Taiwan Craft Concept Store” presents a selection of early Taiwanese craft products, on view from November 21, 2025, to January 4, 2026. Each object captures a moment suspended in time—traces of the island’s journey in shaping its craft identity. Some of these works continue to evolve, while others have faded into the dust of history. Together, they form a collective story of perseverance and creation—a reminder of the long, humble road toward building Taiwan’s craft brands. At the heart of this journey lies the craft spirit - an attitude of sincerity and dedication in work, kindness and integrity in life, and a pursuit of beauty in both form and function. It is a spirit that upholds truth, goodness, and beauty, inspiring us to embody these values in everyday life.
