The National Taiwan Craft Research and Development Institute (NTCRI), under the Ministry of Culture, is dedicated to promoting craft culture, invigorating the craft industry, and building a robust craft ecosystem in Taiwan. Its primary scope encompasses craft research and innovation, talent cultivation, craft material testing and authentication, research, publications and exhibitions, craft collection and value-added applications, regional craft development, aesthetic education, brand certification, industry guidance, and international cooperation.

Crafts originate from daily life and are fundamentally human-centered. Taiwan boasts a diverse craft culture that continues to pursue growth and embrace change in a rapidly evolving contemporary landscape. While the exquisite skills and enduring spirit of craftsmanship must be passed down, its practices must also evolve with the times to break new ground. Yet through every shift, the constant core lies in perseverance, meticulousness, and the pursuit of excellence—an ethos deeply rooted in the hearts of the Taiwanese people. We hope to enrich the human spirit and beautify Taiwan through craft, continuously deepening cultural roots while driving economic growth. Ultimately, we aim to present Taiwanese artistry as a cultural signature to the world, allowing global audiences to discover Taiwan through the lens of its fine craft.
