Different from traditional two-dimensional rush grass weaving, it is an improved three-dimensional one, displaying a vivid and lively ceremonial boat launching of the Tao tribe living in Orchid Island. The creators behind the work are a group of inmates. The imprisonment should not hinder their freedom to express creativity. Moreover, craft – if practiced carefully to become a living skill – could be therapeutic and of great future potential for the society. 傳統的二維藺草編織方式改良為立體化編織,表現出蘭嶼達悟族新船下水祭典的場面,熱鬧而生動。此作品的創作者也是一個群體:受刑人。在禁錮的時空中,創作仍是自由平權施應於每一個人、每一雙手和每一個腦,盡可以為了滿足審美之趣而進行。再者,如將工藝做為一項生活技能悉心演練,亦是足具療癒性和社會未來性的對待。 |
