The waterfall scenery of the Liwu river in Taroko Gorge is presented in the form inspired by Chinese landscape painting paper scroll. Seeing ordinary subjects in the eyes of the contemporary world, a modern vocabulary, outside that of traditional looming and mechanical production, is created along with the auxiliary assistance of computer aided Jacquard loom. To view the scroll from distance, it is a long strip of ink splash painting. To get up close and personal, tiny details of warp and weft colors are vividly present on the fabric. The artistry of the fabric lies in the fact that colors are changed manually and under scrutiny to avoid repetitiveness typically associated with mass production.
