「切開」是樹進入工廠的一段過程,也揭示了材料的時間面貌。作品保留各樹種自然的紋理與色澤,將生活中作為家具建材,經機械加工裁切後的多種原木板材持續切鋸、拼接、鑲嵌及打磨出一冊冊微型書本,使原本包覆在樹中的材料成為書皮以不同的排列組合安裝於書櫃,展現出各色彩的原木所拼構的視覺畫面。
切鋸後的不同樹種木塊重新聚集組構,耗時的創作過程是回應關於木材生長的時間累積,保留樹幹的斷面紋理,在一次次的裁切後成為一片片風景,是切開後的想像。而微型的樣態,改變我們觀看的視野,動力裝置的反覆運轉,擴張想像的時空。從木材的切開到時間的切割,隨著物件動作的行進,我們看見了另一種不可見的閱讀,此景如畫亦如林。
“Cutting open” indicates a process for tree in the factory as a raw material. This work remains natural textures of the trees, and makes them different kinds of books after cutting, splicing, inserting and polishing. Re-collaborating after cutting forms an answer for the long-term creation which is also an imagination of different sceneries. By mobile device, the imagination could be extended and viewers may have different kind of reading experiences.
