When in his early twenties, Yang-chi Tsai worked with his teachers in sculpting in many major temples. As a result, his works can be seen the length and breadth of Taiwan. Although he worked for a time as a wood sculptor, he returned to the world of temple carving while in his forties. One of his more recent projects has been a set of wooden lanterns and music stands. Tsai's works are always remarked upon for being detailed and lively in expression.
