This is an exhibition, based upon the notions of time, way of seeing and feeling, which lead us straightforward into the world of crafts art in Taiwan. The first annals of Taiwanese crafts was a part of the General History of Taiwan published in 1920. With the spectacle of a hundred years, we are able to see the shape of the crafts art in Taiwan more clearly. The beauty created by the everyday practice in this island, the innovation created by people’s interaction and communication and the spirits created by the ceaseless efforts from people devoting are all providing us with the courage to face the challenge in the future.
Through a holistic review to the past century, we are able to understand the resilience, accumulation, and rejuvenation of the crafts art in Taiwan and thus it offers us an opportunity to explore the cultural resources in the future.
